A pleasure to learn.

My evening has been spent unlike many others who are watching Game 2 of the State of Origin. I've been indulging with the other Watermelon team members at the delicious new release textiles from Warwick Fabrics for 2010. A staggered release of drapery, upholstery and outdoor fabrics, it was delightful to see a company steaming ahead through uncertain financial times and assisting us to offer new, exciting and unique product to our clients. It is too easy to sit on the existing and wait until the tide turns before taking risks in this industry however by courageously moving forward and investing in new product says wonders for the strength of business mind and quality behind Warwick Fabrics and their design/sales teams. Highlights for me include the Kasuri Range. Great geometric patterns with a delicate modern floral to work back with, this is a range most suitable for drapery and light upholstery. A beautiful, contemporary feel with a clean and simplistic beachside feel

My second stand out was the Adachi range (see below). Bold florals with striking use of colour. This range reminded me of Kathryn Ireland and Nina Campbell; a modern vintage feel using layering of florals, stripes and colourful textiles in a story against each other to create a dramatic yet suitably coastal look.

Last but by no mean least was the Eden range. At Watermelon Red we do a HUGE amount of work with outdoor fabrics within both indoor and outdoor settings. Outdoor textiles are durable, provide longevity from the harsh Queensland sun, are easy to maintain and great value. Generally quite harsh to touch initially, The Eden range included a lovely selection of textural outdoor fabrics in geometric and leaf patterns which had an instant softness and appeal.
 (excuse the photo please!)
Available in a short range of neutral and natural colours, this is an easy range to work back with key accent pieces and colours that already exist within your home.

It was wonderful to have the opportunity to have the entire 2010 collection presented to the local industry on the Sunshine coast. Thank you Warwick for a wonderful event! www.warwick.com.au
