THE LAKES, Hyatt Regency Coolum

Nestled into dense native gardens and sitting on the banks of the integrated Lakes system that this Hyatt Regency Coolum estate is known for, the New Zealand based clients had a strong desire to revamp their newly purchased property from a 1980's sunshine yellow and cornflour blue fitout into a sophisticated and elegant holiday home. Drawing inspiration from New Zealand's famous Huka Lodge, the understated luxury of a Hamptons retreat and the local flora and fauna surrounding the property, a monochromatic scheme of stone, black and warm whites was presented to the client in varying textural states to create an inviting ambience to the home.

Completely repainted throughout in Wattyl Paint, Whiteweave gave a new lease of life to the property and great base to start afresh. A Dominant textural feature wall in Porters Limewash Paint in French Blue was added to the living space providing depth of colour and a cohesion between the decorative elements in the space and fresh jute flooring laid throughout the bedrooms and office spaces. Custom made roller blinds were installed using a contemporary print of the Australian Firewheel from Mokum's Botanicals range and bespoke lighting made with Cloth Fabric's Kangaroo Paw Texile, the sheer white on white print creating the most beautiful atmopheric lighting showcasing the shape and form of a botanical treasure when lit. Adding contrast with rich dark furniture accents, warmth and texture were included by reupholstering two existing Moran sofas in Mokum's Ficus (Granite) and adding natural coir rugs in classic stripes throughout the living space.
